Author of one of the renowned books of literature in Africa, "Things Fall Apart", Professor Chinua Achebe is dead. He died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Professor Achebe had been sick for some time.

The writer has been hospitalised  recently. Born on November 16, 1930. He was 82 years.

Obama's Limo Breaks Down in Israel

Even God's own country president's car can break down.







One of US President Barack Obama's limousines has broken down in Israel.

The black, heavily guarded limousine experienced mechanical problems in Tel Aviv before Mr Obama landed in the country for a state visit.

Media reports said the vehicle was mistakenly filled with diesel rather than petrol.

The disabled limo was swapped for a back-up, and Mr Obama's busy itinerary in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Wednesday was not affected.

"This is why we bring multiple vehicles and a mechanic on all trips," US Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement.

"Situations like this are planned for extensively by our advance teams so that the President's itinerary is unaffected by these types of issues."

Alamieyeseigha’s Pardon: Soyinka Blasts Jonathan, Says Action is Immoral

Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka blasts the Jonathan presidency Wednesday in Lagos, when he described the state pardon granted former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, by President Goodluck Jonathan, as both a corrupt act and an example of state impunity.

Soyinka, made the comments while opening this year’s edition of the Lagos Black Heritage Festival. He also slammed comments made by President Jonathan’s spokesman, Reuben Abati that those criticizing the immorality of the pardon were suffering from “sophisticated ignorance.”

NYSC Corps Members to be Trained in Martial Arts

The Director General, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig-Gen. Nnamdi Affia, has emphasized the need to train corps members in self defense.

During a visit to Akwa Ibom State NYSC permanent camp, Affia noted that self protection had become mandatory for everyone due to reports of kidnapping in the country.

He stressed that the idea behind the introduction of martial art was to expose all corps member to various ways in which they could protect themselves.

He urged corp members to understand the community they are posted to after their three weeks in camp and shun acts of confrontation with village idols in the name of religion.
He charged corps members to dress decently and avoid night parties and unnecessary traveling.

SoundCity Presenter, Moet Abebe reportedly got a Shoprite attendant fired. Here is a message from Moet to everyone who's seen her 'in the nude pic' with Peju and is talking 'trash' about it.

Moet says:

"That picture is old and y'all need to sit all the way DOWN! Who cares what you think? So, keep it moving."

And right after tweeting that, Moet got to share her 'cool story' of how she got a Shoprite attendant fired for calling her stupid!

So today the funniest thing happened after my work out with Uzi... I went to shoprite and asked an attendant to show where tomatoes were.
She was now speaking to me like she's doing me a favour..I vexed and told her u don't speak to customers like that ... She called me stupid
Sooo after calling me stupid I said let me speak to her manager... Told him the whole story and she got fired on the spotttt...
Most Nigerians know absolutely nothing about customer service... It's disgusting.
So that's the end of my cool story...
